Ow.

Sometimes it seems I can’t win for losing. A few years ago I got a (thankfully slight) neck injury that occasionally flares up, in the form of a pinched nerve on one side or the other. There is a way to prevent this from happening, but it will take some real work. Fortunately, that work is part of what this blog was created to track. Unfortunately, while the pinch is doing its thing it is very hard to do any work at all: lifting sometimes makes it better, sometimes worse; and working toward prevention requires more brainpower than that level of pain allows.

So if things are a bit slow here, I apologize. I’m quite frustrated by the whole thing (he said with astounding restraint).

I am very aware that this situation is both a literal example of the need to change one’s life and habits and a metaphor for the larger picture of same, but I’m grasping at the idea around the pain echoing around my neck, shoulder, and arm. We’ll see what good I can make of this.
